Pom Pom’s Teahouse and Sandwicheria is located on Bumby Ave.
just North of the 408 toll road, and as their name states they specialize in
interesting tea blends and gourmet pressed sandwiches. They are open for lunch
and dinner during the week and are 24 hours on the weekends.
What to expect from a visit to Pom Pom’s Teahouse and
Sandwicheria? Well that all depends on what time of day you go. During the day
you will find it rather laid back, but if you go at 3am like I did on my last
visit you will find yourself waiting for a table because the place is packed.
I’ve actually been going to
Pom Pom’s since they first opened back in 2005 (I think). Over the years they
have consistently been providing interesting sandwiches and an awesome/funky
atmosphere.
Some of my favorites are …
The Cobb (Turkey, Melted Bleu Cheese, Tomato, Watercress, Red Onion,
Bacon and Avocado $8)
Mama Ling Ling’s Thanksgiving (Turkey, Ginger Cranberry Chutney, Gouda,
Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Cream Cheese and a Side of Gravy $8)
and the Spicy Elvis
(Cayenne Peanut Butter, Bacon and Sliced Bananas $7)
If you’re not in the mood for a Sandwich then try one of
their large Salads, such as the House (Apples, Goat Cheese, Almonds and Red
Onions $6). I really enjoy the Creamy Basil, but all of their homemade
Dressings are good.
They offer an assortment of cupcakes made at a local bakery
to satisfy your sweet tooth.
And if you are there over night there is a Breakfast menu to
order from. Do yourself a favor and get the Grits. I know many people that
don’t like Grits – until they visit Pom Pom’s that is.
There is a reason the Pom Pom’s has a devoted following and
always gets good reviews. The menu is simple yet there are tons of choices, and
the Food always tastes great.
